Two Coastside Heroes Fought For Us ~ Imagine No Tunnel and No New Leaf

October 22, 2020 by Michelle 1 Comment

VIDEO. A brief history of time to honor two citizens that epitomized community service. From Sewer Authority Mid-Coastside 12/12/2020 meeting.

Thank you for your service.  How would you like to contribute on the Coastside?

John “The Padre” Lynch

John “Padre” Lynch dies at 95 years young. Never elected to City Council, but collected many, many signatures and was the epitome of citizen involvement. He got New Leaf to Half Moon Bay, clean socks for the homeless and was fighting against the Dunes Beach development until his last days.

Chris Thollaug was the technical and financial leader to get the Devils Slide Tunnel built, rather than the 4-lane bypass that would have decimated sleepy little Montara.

Chris Thollaug and Lennie Roberts

Thank-you Michelle. I really enjoy your newspaper. It is so informative and fun to read. Someday, I would like to know more about the old road from El Granada to the Peninsula.
