El Granada Wildfire Resiliency: Presentation of Results – June 28, 2022

June 27, 2022 by Gregg Leave a Comment

OWN VOICE. ~ InPerspective by Gregg Dieguez —

The eagerly anticipated “Wildfire Scoping Project” commissioned last year with the assistance of RCD and money from County has reached the stage where findings can be presented.  The public presentation will be Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 6-7:30pm on Zoom, with details below.

The need for this study was driven by local residents concerned about wildfire risks from eucalyptus, drought, increased dwelling density, and concerns about evacuation and other factors.  The results of this study are expected to frame wildfire mitigation efforts going forward in our area.

When: Tuesday June 28, 2022 from 6-7:30 pm on Zoom

At this meeting, the project team will present the results of a science-based assessment of wildfire risk and a suite of site-specific recommendations.

More From Gregg Dieguez ~ InPerspective

Mr. Dieguez is a native San Franciscan, longtime San Mateo County resident, and semi-retired entrepreneur who causes occasional controversy on the Coastside. He is a member of the MCC, but his opinions here are his own, and not those of the Council. In 2003 he co-founded MIT’s Clean Tech Program here in NorCal, which became MIT’s largest alumni speaker program. He lives in Montara. He loves a productive dialog in search of shared understanding.
