Caution. New Coastal Trail Damage Just North of Poplar; City Considers Emergency Coastal Development Permit to Shift Trail Inland

May 4, 2023 by Michelle Leave a Comment

VIDEO and PRESS RELEASE on May 4th, 2023. From the Half Moon Bay City Council meeting on Tuesday, May 4th, 2023 at 7:00pm, as a hybrid meeting.

A new area of erosion has presented itself just North of Poplar Beach (first witnessed on April 26).

The City is considering an emergency Coastal Development Permit to shift portions of the trial inland for safety.

The City is currently looking at more permanent repair options to minimize further erosion.

Please be cautious when walking along the bluff or if you visit the beaches.

As a reminder, be aware of your surroundings and contact the Public Works Department via phone: 650-726-7177 or by email at publicworks@hmbcity.com with any concerns or issues.
