VIDEO/ PHOTO-ESSAY. Yesterday, Friday, October 11th, 2019, kids from El Granada Elementary hit the Coastal Trail for a sunny afternoon bike ride.
GCSD collaborated with Bay Area Recreation Outreach Program (BORP) to provide specially adapted cycles and instruction for special needs kids in El Granada.

We provide the specially adapted cycles and you bring your child with special needs for an introduction and to enjoy a short ride along the coastal trail in El Granada. BORP instructors will bring a variety of stable kids-size tricycles and other adaptive non-motorized cycles designed for kids with disabilities. Open to Coastside residents. Beginners encouraged, no previous cycling experience required.
Instructors: Bay Area Outreach Recreation Program
Ages: 7-12; Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Cost: FREE
Preregistration: Required, limited space
Meeting Place: Coastal trail at Magellan Ave, near restrooms at south end of Mirada Surf West County Park
Bring: Several layers of warm clothes, sturdy shoes and a warm jacket
All participants must provide a signed waiver, and if under 18 it must be signed by a parent or guardian, before they can participate. The waiver can be found by clicking on click this link.
