Farallone School Is Off the Chopping Block; No More Moonridge Bussing

November 19, 2019 by Michelle

VIDEO. Good news thanks to the passing of parcel tax Measure I.

Listen to Cabrillo Unified School District Superintendent (CUSD), Sean McPhetridge, as he presents to the Mid-Coast Community Council (MCC), post Measure I, 11/13/19.

Watch the demographers report. CUSD population is dropping.

“Right-Sizing” Farallone’s falling population.

Sean asks why Moonridge kids are bussed out of their neighborhood to Farallone View, when Ocean Colony is not?

He asks why they they are not going to their neighborhood school, Hatch?

He asks why they have to endure a 30-40 bus ride in the morning?

He asks why they are then bussed home after school, without an opportunity to access the HMB library, and the internet, which many Moonridge students do not have.

He ask why is CUSD burning diesel to get kids to school, during the climate crisis?

Have a listen.
