Surf, Watch or Volunteer for the 31st “Big Chill Out” Longboard Surf Competition at Linda Mar Beach in Pacifica

The event, produced by the Pedro Point Surf Club, brings hundreds of surfers and spectators together for a full day of beach fun and activities. Participants range in age from Menehunes as young as 6 years old, to Legends well into their seventies and eighties. 2022 marks a special year as it celebrates the 31st anniversary of the Big Chill Out surf competition. This awesome surfing event is due to take place at Linda Mar State Beach, Saturday, September 17, 2022.

The day’s festivities continue as an evening awards banquet and raffle will take place. The evening’s atmosphere will be filled with good cheer, great food, photos, and lots of community and surfer camaraderie.
So you don’t surf but would like to be part of this annual event? The Pedro Point Surf Club seeks volunteers to assist with everything from set-up, breakdown, judging, and registration to food donations.

Pacifica State Beach
Surfing One Division (all ages) $75
Menehune Push In (under 10yrs old) $25
Team Sponsor – Create a Team of Six (any ages) $100: 5 total teams. Each team will surf one heat together.
5 Raffle Tickets $25: Raffle tickets for Surfboards, Gift Certificates, and other prizes.
Winners will be announced day of the event.

The Big Chill Out is an annual fund raiser & surf contest presented by the Pedro Point Surf Club.

About this event

Our fundraisers help to protect our local beaches from pollution and mistreatment. We support youth development through surfing, water safety, and beach related community events. This event is open to all surfers — no club affiliation required.

 

FAQs

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Paid parking is available at the beach, $5 for less than 4 hours $9 for more than 4 hours or all day.  Lots will fill up, especially on the weekends and when there are events.  Be careful not to park on the highway.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

You do not need to bring your ticket, but you might want to as a back up.
