What is CoCA?
History
Colony of Coastside Artists (CoCA) began in 2010 with a realization that most artists work in isolation and rarely share their work with others unless they sell directly.
Colony of Coastside Artists (CoCA) is a group of like-minded artists who live on the San Mateo County mid-coast from Montara through Half Moon Bay. I started the group in 2010 to encourage artists to share their art in a non-competitive social setting. We met monthly to network, socialize, learn from each other and share ideas. Our group is open to coastside artists of all mediums and levels who would like to join us.
Prior to 2020, we met in people’s homes, and encouraged the artists to bring a piece of work and food to share and socialize .
In 2020, our group discontinued meeting in person and did some online meetings instead. We are now meeting again in person.
