Pacifica’s Sanchez Art Center’s Opening Reception for Dewey Crumpler’s “Fluidity” and “Infinite Cage” Chinese and Taiwanese-American Contemporary Artists

An event every week that begins at 1:00pm on Sunday, Friday and Saturday, repeating until August 20th, 2023
Sanchez Art Center, Pacifica—Dewey Crumpler, Fluidity, presenting work from the artist’s prolific career including pieces from the Container series and Language works, curated by Marguerite T Brown, will open in the Sanchez Art Center Main Gallery on Friday, July 2st, with an evening reception from 7 to 9 pm. The show will be open until Sunday, August 20th, 2023.
Infinite Cage, exploring materials, identities, and histories that constrain a myriad of subjective possibilities, puts forward the work of a diverse gathering of Bay Area-based Chinese- and Taiwanese-American contemporary artists (Kacy Jung, Summer Mei Ling Lee, Bijun Liang, Gabby Wen, Xiaoze Xie, Stella Zhang, Wanxin Zhang, Weimin Zhang), that will concurrently open in the East Gallery.
And, in the West Gallery, Art Guild of Pacifica members are sharing their work made in a variety of mediums, including paintings, clay, mixed media and jewelry, in a group show titled, Favorite Things.
The public is welcome to enjoy and converse with artists in all three exhibitions for the opening night reception that will also include live music by The Breeze (Jamey Brzezinski).
Artist Conversations will be held for Infinite Cage on Saturday, August 12, beginning at 3:30 pm.
On the final day of all three exhibitions, Sunday, August 20, beginning at 3:30 pm, artist Dewey Crumpler and curator Marguerite T Brown will be in conversation about his work in the Main Gallery.
Sanchez Art Center is located at 1220 Linda Mar Blvd, Pacifica, CA. Gallery hours, after opening night, are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 1 to 5 pm, and by appointment, during exhibits.
