Heart Drive Presents the Coastside Ramp Jam ~ A Benefit for ALAS with Same Girls, Coast Tribe and Tiger Shade!

October 7th, 2023 @ 2:00pm - 8:00pm

The Heart Drive and ALAS Announce Upcoming Coastside Ramp Jam!

The Coastside Ramp Jam is a free, all-ages event to be held on October 7 th at the Jetty Mini
Ramp on Highway 1 in El Granada. The event, sponsored by Sam’s Chowder House, features
skating lessons, a skate jam, live music, food booths, a raffle, and local vendors; it is the 4th in a
series held over the past couple of years.

The goal of the Ramp Jam is to create a casual, authentic event where the public can celebrate
young people skateboarding and enjoying themselves in a healthy way while feeling embraced
and being seen by the community. In addition, the live music features local musicians from a
number of different genres selected to appeal to both young people and their elders.

The Heart Drive partners with ALAS to put on this event and all proceeds from the event go to
fund ALAS arts programs for local youths. The Heart Drive threw two ramp jams last year that
helped sponsor an ALAS Summer program and a Hip Hop dance class.

Skateboarding is a major focus of the event and continues throughout. Periodically prizes are
handed out to participants based on their skating level. Skateboarders of all ages and abilities are
invited to participate. Prizes are donated by Atlas Skateboard Shop of San Mateo.

The event also features live music from local and regional artists.

Performers for this event include:

Coast Tribe
Same Girls
Tiger Shade

The Coastside Ramp Jam is the creation of The Heart Drive founder Jesse Nelson. He notes that
“growing up in Half Moon Bay there were very few events for young people. I wanted to create
an event aimed at young people and host it at a place created especially for them.”

The Heart Drive The mission of The Heart Drive as a grassroots collective is to remain "heart to

It does this by coming to their doorstep. The Heart Drive believes in making connections with
those it serves.
