Broads, Bootleggers, and Bookies – The Coastside during Prohibition

April 30, 2016 by mackenzie garrity

Enjoy this fantastic talk about Prohibition on the San Mateo County Coast presented by the Half Moon Bay Historical Association. Deputy Director Carmen Blair of the San Mateo County Historical Association regals us with tales of the Coastside in the 1920’s, colorful slang and all! Much of the information in the talk was collected for an exhibition the SMC Historical Association put together in 2011 – Broads, Bootleggers, and Bookies. The actual presentation starts at 17:59.

Recorded by Pacific Coast TV.
