Big Wave Risk Assessment Group (BWRAG) Trains Mavericks Surfers

November 1, 2018 by Michelle

VIDEOS. World Surf League and BWRAG’s, Danilo Couto, Greg Long, Brian Keaulana and Pat Chong Tim give their Big Wave Water Safety Training to the Mavericks Challenge surfers.

For the first time, the contest will be including men and women AND the contest purse will be the same for both the men and women,  for the first time in the history of sports!

Greg Long asks the Mavericks Surfers at the beginning of the training:

Could you work seamlessly with any of the approximately 150 surfers that regularly surf Mavericks on a Big Wave Water Rescue?

Probably not.

And that is why BWRAG is doing trainings all over the world with the idea that if more big wave surfers know how to be picked up quickly and safely by a jet ski, lives will be saved.

POWERLINES PRODUCTIONS  CAPTURED THE WHOLE TRAINING!!

If you know anyone who surfs Mavericks, or is thinking of it, or someone who is a jet ski operator, they will love this training and the stories the big wave surfers and rescuers tell.

Part 1 of 10

How do you manage the jet ski key and lanyard?

Do you know the difference between Honda and Yamaha jet skis?
