Listen to HMB Chamber’s Charise McHugh as she reads The Little House. This was a favorite story of her daughter Tamara’s, and now her granddaughters. The Little House was published by Houghton Mifflin Co, in 1942. Written and illustrated by Virginia Lee Burton. Ask Charise to read more!
And if you like this book, buy it at a local bookstore!
An Educational Note:
In our rabidly visual society, small children rarely get the opportunity to “Direct and Produce” a story in their own head. A great exercise is to listen to the story with several children, then having them draw a picture of pictures of what the “saw” with their imagination.
