Video of Public Meeting with PGE, Comcast, Cal Trans, ATT ~ Wed. 4/25/19 @ 7pm @ HMBHS

April 26, 2019 by Michelle

VIDEO. Around 100 people showed up, but we know that a lot more people want to hear from these people regarding power and connectivity outages. Thanks to Senator Jerry Hill for organizing. Watch for yourself. You will learn a lot about how power, communications and agencies work on the coast.

From the City of HMB:
We all remember the massive traffic problems on March 12, when a power failure closed the Lantos/Devil’s Slide tunnel and Highway 1, diverting traffic to Highway 92. At the same time, scheduled tree trimming work required the closure of one lane of 92. This combination of circumstances caused major traffic headaches for countless coastside motorists – and it could have been mitigated or avoided with better communication among the agencies involved.
Now, the community is invited to join Senator Jerry Hill and Assembly Members Mark Berman and Kevin Mullin for a panel discussion with utilities and key agencies about what it will take to keep the coastside connected and resilient, even in emergencies.
