San Mateo County Park’s 99-Year History Featured on NBC’s Bay Area OpenRoad with Doug McConnell

San Mateo County Parks will celebrate their 100th Anniversary in 2024.

NBC Bay Area Open Road with Doug McConnell – Episode 82, Sunday, March 19, 2023

 

 

San Mateo County’s oldest and newest parks were recently featured on the season opener of OpenRoad with television journalist Doug McConnell.

Highlights include an interview with San Mateo County Parks ranger Mario Nastari and information on how California’s first state park is recovering from the 2020 fire and how climate change is affecting redwoods along the central coast.

Also featured, in 2024 San Mateo County will celebrate 100 years of park service at Memorial Park and the opening of Tunitas Creek Beach, a new beach park south of Half Moon Bay.

Also tune in to learn how California’s first state park is recovering from the immense 2020 fire, how climate change is affecting redwoods along the central coast and how Sempervirens Fund is ensuring the future of redwoods in the Santa Cruz mountains.
