During COVID-19 so many have asked how this pandemic has affected our Latino community. This presentation shares the stories, struggle, crisis and strength of the Coastside Farmworkers and many local Latinos who have lost both family jobs and are getting by day to day during this health emergency. The presentation will also highlight the many ways the community has come together to support and care for one another in the face of such serious challenges. ALAS has been working at all levels to provide support directly to the farms and Farmworkers, hand making masks and other protective equipment, starting a food pantry and providing weekly deliveries of food to the farms for the families who work there. ALAS is also creating a social media platform to share these stories of community strength and resilience during COVID-19. We invite you to join us at this virtual event to learn from the staff of ALAS what they are seeing and hearing on the ground and how you can help.
