November 16th, 2021 @ 12:00pm - 1:30pm

Tues, November 16, 12:00 – 1:30 pm

California suffers from a deficit of 3.5 million homes. This scarcity feeds poverty, homelessness, sprawl, and erodes the stability of the middle class, and has a disproportionate impact on Black and Latino households. The California Legislature recently passed SB9 and SB10, as well as other housing legislation. How will these new housing laws affect San Mateo County and our housing issues?

Michael Lane the State Policy Director at SPUR, a nonprofit working across the political spectrum to develop solutions to the big problems cities face, will lead a panel discussion which will provide clarity on the intent of these measures, the likely timeline for change, and explore what they say about the neighborhoods of the future.

Join Thrive Alliance and The League of Women Voters of North and Central San Mateo County for this important discussion.

Featuring: Michael Lane, State Policy Director, SPUR; Leora Tanjuatco Ross, Associate Director, Housing Leadership Council.
