TasteTV is happy to announce that the Annual World Dog Surfing Championships (SM) will take place on August 6th, 2022, in Pacifica on the Northern California coast, outside of San Francisco.

The World Championships for Dog Surfing take place on the Northern California coast — where the concept for the dog surfing sport originated — bringing together the best in local and international dog surfing talent. The world’s top dog surfers as well as amateurs are invited to bring home the gold.
Top dog surfers as well as happy amateurs are invited to bring home the Golden Surfie Award. During the event there will be a number of activities including the surf competition, dog beach fashion contest, dog adoptions, partner tents and activities, and more.

Entry is now open for surfdogs to enter either the Live In Person World Championships in Pacific as well as the Virtual Best Waves event.

SOME CONFUSION OUT THERE …
Recently it has come to our attention that there is some confusion on two items, and we hope to clear it up for you.
1) Several events call themselves the original dog surfing competition. Which one is?
Answer: The original dog surfing competition, the very first in all of human or dog history, was at the Loews Coronado in San Diego. This event was hosted by the Loews, and created, conceived and developed by TasteTV / TCB Cafe Publishing, who went to the Loews with the idea and description for such an event. The event was a huge success, and spawned a new global sport. TasteTV / TCB Cafe Publishing is also the creator and producer of the World Dog Surfing Championships(SM).
2) I am now seeing several events calling themselves the “Dog Surfing Championships,” which one is the real one?
Answer: The first and original Dog Surfing Championships is the World Dog Surfing Championships (SM). This event was the first in history to create and brand a championship dog surfing competition, and as such should be considered the real one.
