12th Annual 50|50 Show Opens Sept 18

Join us for the opening of the 2020 50|50 show, a fundraiser celebrating art and community in an unprecedented time.

Sanchez Art Center’s 12th annual 50|50 Show opens Friday, Sept 18, with a stunning array of small, affordable artworks on view through Oct 11.

The Opening Weekend Fundraiser, held Sept 18–20, allows ticket holders to reserve a date and time to see the show in its entirety (all 2,400 pieces of art), and to purchase artworks that will be shipped to buyers the week of Sept 21.

Tickets are limited and none will be available at the door, so purchase yours early at www.Eventbrite.com.

Following the Opening Weekend, gallery hours are Thursday and Friday, 1–8 pm, and Saturday and Sunday 1–5 pm, by appointment only (www.SanchezArtCenter.10to8.com).

Safety protocols for the health and well-being of guests, volunteers, and staff include face masks, physical distancing, and limited numbers of people in the galleries.

About this Event

The ability of artists to share their creative inspirations has been severely impacted during this extraordinarily difficult time of pandemic. A time when the community more than ever is needing and craving the experience, expression, escape, and joy art provides. We thought long and hard about the 12th Annual 50|50 Show and decided that the Show needs to and WILL go on!

50 California Artists were selected by juror Patricia Sweetow of Patricia Sweetow Gallery, San Francisco. Each has been passionately and deliberately creating 50 small works over 50 days. Sanchez Art Center is delighted to bring you their works that can be viewed in person and in their entirety during our opening weekend .

For those who have attended the opening night in the past, we recognized early on that we wouldn’t be able to have the usual exciting event where more than 650 art lovers have traditionally gathered. This year’s fundraiser that supports Sanchez Art Center, will take place at timed intervals beginning Friday, Sept. 18 to Sunday, Sept 20.

Reimagining the opening — to comply with necessary health and safety protocols — has resulted in a special event where you can engage with a few of the artists for a leisurely 1 hr and 45 minute period, with no more than 19 additional art lovers in attendance, while you view and purchase these small treasures. Click on the “Select a Date” box to see the days and times available for you to attend the opening.

Our outdoor lounge between the galleries will provide the opportunity to get off your feet for a bit, enjoy an interlude of LIVE music (yes, LIVE music!) and a beverage before continuing your time in the galleries and making your purchases.

All purchases made during the fundraiser will REMAIN ON THE WALLS for the duration of the weekend. Shipping of works will take place the week following the opening.
