This 4-week live virtual class is open to all levels of artists. Weekly lessons include painting
styles, plus value, composition, balance, and perspective in landscape painting.
Ages 18 and over.

Tuesdays, 1:30 pm–3:00 pm, August 3, 10, 17, 24
Tuition: $125
This 4-week live virtual class is open to all levels of artists. Through weekly paintings or projects, students will work on understanding the importance of value, composition, balance, and perspective in landscape paintings. Students will explore painting techniques and different painting styles with brush and palette knife. Color theory and tips on mixing paint will help students create better landscapes. If you are experienced or have taken painting previously, you can get support with paintings in process or work through assignments provided in class. BONUS: A class video will be made available on YouTube. Livestream link will be provided after registration.
Recommended materials:
• Acrylic brushes of different sizes that are round, flat, or filbert
• Pad of canvas sheets, 9×12
• Palette – flat plate or shallow plastic pan for mixing paints
• 2 containers for water
• Paper towels or old rags
• Plastic wrap to cover paint
• Palette knife
• Set of basic acrylic paints, professional grade if possible. At a minimum choose primary colors (white, black, red, yellow, blue) from this list:
- White: Titanium white
- Black: Mars black, Payne’s gray
- Red: Alizarin crimson, cadmium red light
- Yellow: Cadmium yellow medium
- Blue: Ultramarine blue, phthalocyanine blue
- Orange: Pyrrole orange, cadmium orange
- Green: Permanent green, sap green
- Violet: Dioxazine purple
- Brown: Burnt umber.
