Become a Coastside Volunteer Firefighter
The Half Moon Bay Volunteer Fire Department, consisting of approximately 15 members, is an auxiliary organization to the Coastside Fire Protection District. Established by the authority of the Coastside Fire Protection District, and is under the direction of the Fire Chief.
The objectives of this organization are to operate within the boundaries of the Coastside Fire Protection District as a supplemental force to the regular paid department and to operate as a trained unit for suppression and non-suppression situations.
The Coastside Volunteers participate in rigorous training that is well organized. They respond to many emergencies and are utilized fully.
