2021 (43rd) Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Run Offers Virtual ONLY ~ Support Senior Coastsiders

Thank you for running with us! The Pumpkin Run has been a tradition in Half Moon Bay for many years and takes participants along the beautiful Coastal Trail overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
We were hopeful to be able to hold our events in person this year, but on the heels of the Pumpkin Festival being canceled, we have had to transition our in-person event to 100% virtual.
However, you now have the flexibility to run at a date convenient to you- and you can still take in all the amazing views of the in-person run!
All proceeds will benefit Senior Coastsiders, a local non-profit dedicated to providing opportunities, support and resources for older adults living on the coast from Montara to Pescadero and Skyline to the Sea.

What’s in it for you?
In addition to helping local seniors and running along some of the most stunning scenery in the area, all participants will receive an awesome long sleeve race t-shirt!
Virtual Events: October 1-15, 2021: Kid’s 1-miler, 5K, 10K and Half Marathon
Virtual participants have the option of running or walking more than one event!
In The Pumpkin Run Trifecta, you can run or walk all three events any time during the event period. Not ready for a half-marathon?
Try the Pumpkin Run Double Trouble by completing both the 5K and 10K at any point during the event period. Bundles also come with a price break!
Because the events are all virtual, we will not be awarding the top finishers, but participants will still be able to see how they stack up against other finishers by uploading their times via the ASICS Runkeeper App, manually, or using any other run tracker app and will be able to print a Finisher Certificate.
In-Person Events: The in-person events have been cancelled.
Race Teams
For the first time ever, you can register as a team of six or more! Gather your friends, coworkers or family and enjoy a 5% discount on race entry.

Proceeds from the Pumpkin Run go directly to Senior Coastsiders, a Half Moon Bay non-profit that provides resources, support and opportunities for older adults living on the Coastside. Senior Coastsiders strives to affirm the value and dignity of Seniors and act as a community resource for information, caregiver support and innovative approaches to successful aging. VIRTUAL EVENT FAQ
- What is a virtual run?
- A virtual run is a fun way to participate in the Pumpkin Run when you can’t attend in person for any reason. The virtual option allows you to participate at a time convenient to you within the event date window, and allows you to run or walk anywhere you choose.
- What are the dates?
- The virtual dates are 10/1/21 through 10/15/21
- Do I have to complete all the events within the date window?
- Yes! In order to upload your time and mark your event as complete, you will need to complete your event any time from 10/1/21 through 10/15/21. If you are registered for more than one distance, you can complete them on separate days!
- Can I show up to do the in-person event on 10/16/21 if I don’t get my runs done within the event window?
- No, unless you transfer your registration to the in-person event no later than 10/1/21, you may not participate in the in-person event on 10/16/21.
- Can I pick my packet up in person?
- Yes, we will be announcing packet pick-up dates and locations soon.
- Can my packet be mailed to me?
- Yes, please choose the mailing option when you register for the event
- Can I do more than one event?
- Yes! That’s one of the great benefits of the virtual event. Check the registration page for options.
- How do I upload my times?
- There are a variety of ways to upload your times. You will receive an email with upload instructions once you register for the virtual event.
TRANSFER FAQ
NOTE: THE LAST DAY TO DO ANY TRANSFERS IS 10/1/21.
- Can I transfer from one distance to another?
- Yes; you will need to pay a processing fee of $6.00 and applicable taxes.
- Can I transfer my registration to someone else?
- Yes, a processing fee of $6.00 plus applicable taxes will be charged.
- How do I initiate a transfer?
- Sign into your Race Roster account and click the “Transfer” button to initiate a transfer.

NOTE: Because of the date and location flexibility of the virtual events, there are no refunds for cancellations of virtual events.
